From bringing colour to the silk, to manipulating and shaping, to overdyeing - all the techniques of Shibori. Learn the high tech method of creating cutwork – replicating old hand stitching skills with digitising techniques. This techniques class lays out the process of Cutwork in the Hoop.
Cutwork involves creating tight neat over-edge stitches where the fabric is cut away to expose a hole. The holes created provide the design features – alternatively, for visual pleasure, there may be other fabric types beneath the top one showing through the cut-away areas.
