In 2011 the Textile Art Festival will run alongside the Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo - a feast of paper creativity. ONE ticket will allow you entry to BOTH events, so make this June long weekend a date for creative indulgence in Brisbane.

This event is an annual festival only in Brisbane. See you there.

JUST ANNOUNCED: ATASDA members will hold demonstrations of textile art techniques and conduct an exhibition and sale of members' work. Come and see their clever ideas and buy some of their beautiful creations.

NEWSFLASH: USA textile artist Lesley Riley will be a special guest at the festival this year, courtesy of Unique Stitching. AND Lesley's TAP - Transfer Art Paper by CT Publishing has just been named the Best Overall Innovation at the prestigious trade show of the USA Craft & Hobby Industry Association.

The award was announced on January 31, 2011 and is the result of voting by retailers, CHA members, CHA consultants, and members of the press attending the show. Congratulations Lesley - we look forward to seeing you here at the festival in June! Here is a look at some of Lesley's work:

WATCH artists at work in this exciting area. You can learn from Dale Rollerson from The Thread Studio, Jacinta Leishman and more to be announced. Special guest from the USA will be Lesley Riley demonstrating her collage and mixed media techniques, courtesy of Unique Stitching.

LEARN in mini-classes and workshops. Listen to stage presentations and join in mini-workshops. Whether you want tips on colour, fabric decoration, sewing clothes and costumes, embellishing or quilting, there’ll be something for you. Program to be announced.
