Give A Hoot and Celebrate World-Wide Knit in Public Day at the Festival
Come and do some social knitworking all long weekend.
Celebrate World-Wide Knit In Public Day ...all weekend at the festival. Bring your own knitting to work on, or crochet an owl for charity. Jenny King has come up with a great community idea to crochet a cute owl for kids in hospital.
Titled 'Give A Hoot', the project will give some comfort to kids in need by creating a guardian owl to watch over them. The crocheted owl can be made in a short time, and if you don't know how to crochet, Jenny will be on hand to teach you! Jenny explains: "Having a Guardian Owl will give comfort to kids in care."
Get started now: If you want to make owls before the festival, once you or your group has made a parliament of owls (a group of owls) take a digital picture and email it to leah@jennykingdesigns.com to have it added to the facebook page.
Yarn for owls will be provided by Australian Country Spinners. BYO 4mm crochet hook. Find free owl patterns at www.jennykingdesigns.com/Products/Freepatterns
